This extended school comprises two primary schools, three crèches, rooms for after-school support and community facilities such as a sports hall, theatre and café. In the heart of the three-storey building are the theatre and the large sports hall, neither of which require direct daylight. The crèches, which have their own outdoor space, are ranged round the sports hall on the ground floor. All public spaces are on the first floor and are reached from a broad external walkway. On the second floor are the two schools which share a playground on the gym roof. Their split-level arrangement generates a middle zone of stairs, additional work space and space for social interaction.
