OFFICE BUILDING KPMG
ALBERTS & VAN HUUT, 1988-1991
Burgemeester Rijnderslaan 10-20, Amstelveen
ARCHITECT(URAL OFFICE): Alberts & Van Huut INTERIOR ARCHITECT: Marcel van der Schalk ARCHITECT(URAL OFFICE): Ton Alberts Max van Huut BUILDING TYPE: Office buildings PUBLICATIONS: Architectuur Bouwen 1991-10
The architecture of Alberts & Van Huut, so personal in appearance and once reserved for welfare, has since been successfully applied to office buildings (NMB, Gasunie). The elongated block comprises two tall sections containing the entrance and an unbroken circulation route. Here the anthroposophical forms are a modification of a 'normal' office block, the architects being faced with an existing urban context. In the interior with its extremely precise detailing the architecture comes more into its own.
