This bridge, at over five kilometres Holland's longest, has nothing to do with the nearby Delta Plan. It is in fact the last phase of the Zeeland Route which begins with the tunnel under the Oude Maas river (Heinenoordtunnel), crosses the bridge/sluice/dyke triple fork at Hellegatsplein, follows the Grevelingendam and Zandkreekdam to Noord-Beveland and ends at the town of Goes.
