The occupants of a farmhouse which had burnt down built this energy-efficient studio house themselves to replace it. In the outermost shell of the circular half-sunken living level are the bedrooms and kitchen. An open fireplace in the heart of the dwelling attached to a heating system below the floor warms the entire house. The circle around the fireplace is completed by a double-height winter garden on the water. This connects the living level to the circular glass studio projecting from the sunken house and functioning as an observation post looking out across the flat landscape.
