This huge complex housing eight technical schools consists of three freestanding building parts atop and linked by a continuous basement. The main portion, ten storeys high, 220 metres long and 22.5 metres deep, follows the curve of the overhead railway line. The shared great hall halfway along the main block doubles as a theatre and sports an expressive sculpture in concrete and stained glass by Karel Appel. The intermediate building square to the main block serves to link the latter to an 11-storey tower boasting eight gymnasiums and a swimming pool.
