The different components of this flour factory are so arranged that the mechanized production process can run at optimum capacity. These components can be enlarged; and each has its own architectural expression to stress the way the building fits together. The grain silos and the elevators with their glass engine room are set apart; the elongated volume on Rijnhaven contains the cleaning department, the mill, the flour silos and the bagged goods store with an office, laboratory, live-in unit and canteen on the three storeys above. Each component has its own structural identity with both frame and facades in reinforced concrete.
