HARBOUR BUILDING AMSTERDAM
W.M. DUDOK, R.M.H. MAGNÉE, 1957-1965
De Ruijterkade 7, Amsterdam
ARCHITECT(URAL OFFICE): Willem Marinus Dudok Rob Magnée : Gerard de Klerk BUILDING TYPE: Office buildings PUBLICATIONS: Bouwkundig Weekblad 1960 p. 381; La Technique des Traveaux 1962 p. 11
By taking the organization and prefabrication of facade elements, beams and stairs to an extreme, this building was realized within the allowed time and budget. A steel crown containing a restaurant and terrace sits atop the concrete structure of the 12th and 13th floors. The small low-rise building contains two live-in units; a second large oblong block was never built.
