This landing stage was built to allow passenger ships to moor during the sporadic high tides. A steel right-angled space frame forms the constructional basis for two small, prismatic buildings at the beginning of the landing stage containing the harbourmaster's office and a coffee shop. The airy architecture of these two buildings, with its allusions to dockside cranes, contrasts starkly with the solid architecture, relating to the old inner city, of the block at the end of the landing stage which includes a restaurant, a café, and apartments, also by Croonen.
