BUILDING TYPE:
Housing

To avoid an 'inconvenient reduction in scale' in grouping these old-age dwellings meant deviating from the development programme drawn up by Public Works. The housing blocks define two outdoor spaces, one green, the other paved and with benches, that flow into one another. The architects sought to strike a balance between open and closed, individual and communal space, a 'necessary interlocking of architecture and urban planning'.
