The municipal hall for Wehl west of Doetinchem is sited just outside the village centre where there is sufficient room for a forecourt. Its rooms are ranged round a courtyard with a central well. Large roof overhangs grace the simple geometric volumes. The dark brick of the basement is a concession to the wishes of the council. Above, the glass and metal panels are typical of Henket's familiar well-groomed high-tech exterior which this time includes columns placed prominently beyond the envelope. The council chamber cum wedding room has a raised volume to itself, perched above the entrance. A municipal reshuffle has left the building with a new duty to perform.
