OFFICE COMPLEX NIEUW-AMSTERDAM
P.B. DE BRUIJN, 1978-1986, Hoekenrode 1, Amsterdam Zuidoost
Pi de Bruijn
In this office block two T-shaped buildings are connected by an elliptical portal structure. Facings are of prefabricated aluminium plating with folded sides. The narrow plates (0.90 x 3.50 metre) set off a lively rhythm in the frontage. The understructure is faced with horizontal concrete elements. The building is part of a complex of offices, shops, and a hotel which forms the basis of the new centre near rail and Metro station Bijlmermeer.
