Here, students' quarters are ranged along a double corridor with a central zone for vertical circulation and ablutions and a communal dining/cooking space with terrace. One floor houses married students off a corridor with a common room at one end. The building also used to include a restaurant, a union office and a bar on the ground floor. Entry from the street is a gradual affair of sheltered inner courts, differences in level and lighting effects, with no clear-cut division between private and public.
