The design constructs three largely autonomous volumes, pulled together by a shared flat roof. The blue drum with its introverted facade houses the noisier activities, the yellow timber box contains a modest hall cum games lending facility and a room for the playground supervisors. Kitchen, storage, changing rooms and cells for ablutions are shut away in a brick volume; the roofed space between the three components serves as entrance and lobby. The ensemble sits on a raised platform that lifts this safe world of play away from the roar of the street. More practically, it separates the whole from the heavily polluted ground beneath.
