Bergeijk has always been the ‘Rietveld village’. Besides the weaving mill Rietveld designed a bus shelter and a street clock and also two residences
here. The house for the famous furniture designer and art collector Martin Visser (1922-2009) at Eikendreef 2 (1956) and another for one of the directors of De Ploeg, Roelof van Daalen, at Fazantlaan 14, with a garden by Mien Ruys. A residence for the other director, Piet Bleijenburg, never materialized. Nor did a 1956 project for 32 single-family houses.
