The Public Records Office is home to the archives of state and province as well as 150,000 historical maps. Public areas, study rooms and a library are grouped around an inner garden leading to storerooms in imperforate blocks along Prins Bernhardviaduct with a maximum of 200 km. shelf space. Their walls and roofs have extra-heavy insulation so that little energy is required to maintain a constant temperature and humidity.
