A sharp contrast with Duiker's Cineac, the Tuschinski Theatre displays an exuberant Art Deco style. Squeezed into the narrow site (13.5 x 57.5 m.) is an imposing facade, opulently decorated and covered with glazed tiles. The interior too, particularly the lobby, is rich in carpets, wall and ceiling paintings, lighting effects and furniture. The Bouwkundig Weekblad (an architectural weekly) wrote of 'pollution of the cityscape' by 'shapeless towers like 42 cm. projectiles'.
