In the densely built centre of 's-Hertogenbosch, the existing city hall has been enlarged and public services hitherto spread over five sites brought together in a new municipal office. The central glass public zone of the municipal office stitches together what used to be the city information desk, a former office of the national water authority and an old school. A branch of the Binnendieze canal network flows under the building and can be seen through the glass floor. The ensemble is fitted out as an open flex office. Administrative tasks are performed in the city hall, distinguished by its white cut stone cladding. A restored 13th-century brick wall is a confrontation with history on every floor.
