A number of government buildings cluster at the rear of Lelystad Station to an urban plan by West 8. Cees Dam's courthouse with its full-height arcade has a suitably classical air. The courtrooms occupy a strongly modelled glass hall whose openness is unusual for this particularly secure area. Upper floors are given over to offices and the cafeteria, with a hermetic zone of cells and interview rooms in the basement with its own entrance. The sky-blue jutting roof seems to float in space.
