This insurance bank building consists of a circular basement with above it a narrow high-rise slab with one end splayed to maximize daylighting. In rotating this on its axis to face Gerrit van der Veenstraat Dirk Roosenburg demonstrated a sensitivity to the context. In the basement, next to the main entrance, is the card catalogue; a canteen and terrace occupy the roof. Office space in the slab can be reorganized using movable wall fittings. During restoration work the basement was demolished and then rebuilt in the original state.
