This final design of Oud's was realized after his death at a new site. After completion the building was ignored, though many now see it as a classic example of Oud's poetic brand of functionalism. The special functions sit at the two ends of an oblong office block with a double corridor system and aluminium curtain walls; at the north end the council chamber with its triangular composition and in the south the cantilevered civic hall. Colours mark the building parts in a permanent arrangement of blue and yellow glazed brick and white stone.
