Extensions to Parliament (Plein 23)

Despite its clean-cut modernist architecture this new complex for the Second Chamber of Parliament fits into its complex historical setting with remarkable ease. Its spine is a tall, elongated glass-roofed public hall accompanied by a linear three-storey block of conference rooms. The semicircular plenary hall on the side of Hofsingel is flanked by a corner tower terminating the existing buildings along Lange Poten and containing a coffee bar, smoking room and rooms for the media.
