BUILDING TYPE:
Buildings for education

Ichthus University of Professional Education is sited in the row of office buildings along one front with Wilhelminahof. All communal spaces are ranged round an atrium behind a large expanse of glass to profit from the magnificent view across the harbour basin (Rijnhaven). Walkways stitch together the restaurant, study areas and part of the mediatheque. The building consists of two linear zones, a broad glass slab containing the atrium and a narrower relatively closed slab of classrooms. This enclosure is also achieved with glass panels, some of which are blue with a screen-printed pattern.
