BUILDING TYPE:
Museums and exhibition buildings

The main shape of this museum, devoted to work of the Cobra movement, assimilates three directions from the surrounding development, its diagonal line continuing as an existing canal. Inside, the museum divides into two large exhibition areas: a ground-floor gallery with a glass facade that looks out onto the water, and set at 45 degrees to it an upper gallery sporting a clutch of sawtooth roof-lights. The hub internally speaking is a double-height patio with glass walls fitted out by Tajiri as a dry Zen garden, with the traditional stones replaced by screens of Cor-Ten steel.
