BUILDING TYPE:
Religious buildings

The star-shaped plan of this Dutch Reformed church symbolizes the morning star, 'the light of the world'. The large ten-sided main church space is raised 3.5 metres above street level and can accommodate 600 worshippers. Below it, on the ground floor, are various ancillary spaces for social and religious activity. The centralized structure has a wooden roof and is crowned with a steel bell tower. The church stands in the main square of Zuidwijk.
