This church is one of the works realized by Granpré Molière, leading light of the Delft School, during his influential tenure as professor at Delft. Based on rhythm and proportion, the harmonious head elevations stand like shields before the church, hiding its cross section from view. The traditional tripartition into nave and aisles is here combined with a longitudinal division into two, generating transitional zones within the main space. The surrounding district, designed by Granpré Molière and Peutz between 1947 and 1955, contains perfect examples of traditionalist housing.
