This school, set in park-like surroundings, is configured as two wings each comprising two storeys of classrooms to either side of a wedge-shaped central corridor, and a third part housing the main hall and the sunken gym rooms. These masses converge at a central gathering space near the entrance. The various functions are readily identifiable in the exterior with untreated stone for the classrooms, zinc for the hall and wood panels for the gyms. Inside, much thought has been given to the light in the corridors which floods in through the large windows in the stair towers as well as through the classroom entrances, designed as glass bays in the corridor.
