The lofty fly tower and the auditorium of this theatre are set at some distance from the street on a site built in on two sides. One of these sides contains a facilities strip, leaving space on the street elevation for the foyers and the entrance. The building's architecture is transparent and airy, with just the auditorium a solid chunk of concrete set within all this openness. Draped round it is the open foyer space shot through with stairs, mezzanines and catwalks. A large glazed facade bent over backwards reveals the theatregoers at interval time to the world at large.
