Cornelis van de Ven is one of the few Dutch architects to build convincingly in a postmodern historicist style à la Venturi or Stern. This golf centre, configured in a classic symmetrical parti, contains elements (pediments, arches, moulded eaves) that ally it to the country-house style found in America and Victorian Britain. The main building is approached through a classical gateway in a less-tall service building. The entire piano nobile is an assortment of rooms for eating and conferring, with broad terraces that look out across the fairways.
