Part of the former Rozendaal textile factory now houses the TwentseWelle museum, whose three components are devoted to textiles, natural history and local history. These are housed in the production hall and everything else in a new portion, the two connected across a public 'culture street' by a bridge and a subterranean passage. The new-build portion of eclectic forms combines studio houses with a winding block of apartments, retaining an old factory wall as the front facade. A tower equipped with a stainless steel curtain as solar protection houses all the non-public spaces and acts as a focus of attention. The museum's spine is the Open Depot, a display case 110 metres long, 5.5 metres high and 3 metres deep.
