In this housing block Van Tijen experimented with the possibilities available to industrialised building. Its load bearing structure is a steel frame with brick wall partitions. Wooden lower fronts are clad in steel sheets coated with zinc and provided with wired glass awnings. All three different dwelling types use porch entrances. Each unit has a zone with parents' bedroom on the street side separated by a glazed sliding partition from the living room on the garden side.
