Buildings for education
The main feature of the design for this 'community of schools' providing junior secondary technical and commercial education, is the great care given to articulating its functions structurally and architecturally. Set in park-like surroundings, the ensemble divides into three functional rectangular pavilions connected by glazed passages: a tall elongated theory block, a less-tall square block of workshops and a gymnasium. All three have an exposed black-painted steel structure with a module of two metres whose cladding alternates white panels with window bands.
