This cruciform school comprises two three-storey wings of classrooms, a wing of staff and practical rooms above an auditorium, and a less-tall part for gymnastics. The central hall marks the point of intersection together with the entrance and the main stairtower; an art classroom shares the roof with a terrace and an observatory. The porter's lodge and cycle shelter are housed in a low-rise block defining the forecourt. Study areas in the corridor along the classrooms project beyond the envelope. Facades have an infill of brick, glass block and distinctive fenestration (0.75 x 0.75 m.).
