Nicknamed the 'coal scuttle' because of its shape, this church is very much a law unto itself in this piecemeal urban setting, a landmark amidst indifferent housing. Light, the primary theme in Duintjer's churches, enters this one through high diagonal windows whose variety of angles makes for a disarming play of light below. A vicarage and shopping centre complete the ensemble.
