Set on a triangular site on the edge of the inner city, the employment office building absorbs in a sculptural fashion the various local axial lines and building heights; the curved facade follows the bend of the road. On the ground floor are the principal civic facilities; above these are the offices and interview rooms ranged round a glass-roofed void that delivers daylight deep into the building. All plant is housed in the roof structure on the second floor. The exterior is an emphatic nod to prewar modernism.
