HOLIDAY RESIDENCE GIETEN
E.J. JELLES, 1967-1968, De Zaalsteden 29, Gieten
A prototype of rational timber-frame construction, this wooden house is based on a system of 1.20 x 1.20 x 1.20 metre, with a choice of gable, shed, or flat roof. A free-standing brick unit with rounded corners and white stucco is for ablutions. Framework in the lower fronts is rectangular in section, with added rails accepting doors and windows or bearing the solid outer surface. An assortment of floor levels are linked by short straight flights of stairs.
