The building follows a gradual transition from open and public to the privacy of its inner recesses. A wall of concrete blocks starts off as a seat, rises to a wall, gains a roof, becomes an entrance hall and terminates in the large enclosed main church space. A raised section includes the pulpit, the font and the organ. The roof is a structure of pre-stressed concrete beams on brickwork columns. Presiding over the composition is a freestanding bell tower which doubles as a gateway to the forecourt.
