BUILDING TYPE:
Government buildings
This municipal hall has been slotted comfortably into its historical setting by dividing it into smaller volumes, each with its own roof, and by using traditional materials. Offices and public zones cluster round a double-height central hall. The roof structure has timber trusses resting on a solid brickwork frame furnished with concrete lintels. This building is a product of the so-called 'Bossche School', an architectural movement taking its cue from the theoretical work and measurement systems of Hans van der Laan.
