Combining a professor's house with lecture rooms and laboratories, these early buildings for the https://www.architectureguide.nl/project/item/prj_id/1010" class="inline_link">Agricultural University are unmistakably the work of the Amsterdam School. The expressive curves of the exterior, earning both buildings the nickname 'The Ship', make way indoors for a strikingly objective subdivision of spaces. The buildings are decorated with exotic-Cubist sculptures by Johan Polet, evidence of Blaauw's keen interest in integrating sculpture in architecture.
