Though the triangular site was intended for temporary occupation it was filled in by Oud with great care and a wealth of detail. One standard dwelling constantly adjusted to fit its setting serves as basis. This variation on a single theme and the use of colour akin to that of De Stijl (black streets, white walls with a yellow plinth, blue doors, yellow frames and gutters, and pillarbox-red roofing tiles) make the Witte Dorp (White Village) Oud's most lively housing estate. The quarter was demolished in 1989.
