Van den Broek's own house consists of a large, rectangular block containing the garage, bedroom, workroom and double-height living room with mezzanine floor, and a smaller block of entrance and kitchen. It is all but closed to the street; the garden elevation by contrast can be fully opened up using glazed sliding partitions two storeys high. This side also has a balcony with steel stair. The white-rendered brick walls are loadbearing. Round steel columns stand along the garden elevation.
