Sportplaza Mercator combines in a stepped volume baths for various target groups, saunas, a fitness centre and a rheumatism bath as well as a grand café and a fast food restaurant. Facades have a total surface area of 2000 square metres and are covered with a black elastic material with incisions in it every 20 centimetres to accommodate plant boxes. A computerized drip irrigation system waters the 50,000 plants in 60 species. Grass roofs complete this entirely 'green' building whose interior resorts to bright colours and hygienic materials such as tiles, glass and plasterwork.
