In the Forum building, ten storeys high and with a footprint of 70 square metres, education and research link arms. Wells, atria and diagonal cuts deliver daylight deep into the building, whose heart consists of a main hall on the first floor and the adjoining restaurant. There are 70 rooms for group work, 35 lecture halls of varying size and a welter of practical labs. Seventy per cent of the university education is given here. The library, an amalgamation of 45 constituent libraries, wraps four storeys round a convex central well clad with wood for acoustic purposes.
