The Queens Towers project consists of a trio of office buildings - Wilhelmina (10,000 square metres), Juliana and Beatrix (7500 square metres each) - named after the three most recent Dutch queens. A connecting basement clad in grey polished granite contains the main entrance, parking and a bicycle garage. The supporting structure is fully integrated in the facades so that office spaces are column-free. The facades of the towers are assembled from narrow strips of precast concrete composite elements with a masonry outer leaf and glass curtain walling. Tucked under the projecting pitched roofs with their green aluminium cladding are the archives and plant rooms. The complex is Weeber’s first built work since his unexpected flirtation with neoclassicism.
