Situated behind the main block is the central workshop block or W-hall. Its roof is suspended from steel columns in a square grid. Strips of fenestration between raised roof sections provide the workshops with daylight. The unassertive, technical architecture matches admirably the function of this building and offers a practicable framework whether for workshop, study, or office.
