A monumental T-shaped farmstead largely in disrepair has been converted into a residence. Part of the rear facade is all that remains of the stem of the T. The old farmhouse itself has been largely restored, inserting large areas of glass into the exterior where necessary. A new timber-clad volume now occupies the gap between the farmhouse and the old section of wall. This new portion, which includes a winter garden and guest accommodation, reinstates the contours of the old demolished barn but leans as it descends in height towards the old wall, giving an unsettling perspective effect. The timber cladding deviates in places to shield the glazing from the sun.
