Construction work began on these telephone company premises during the war. A pre-war part of Botersloot that had survived was integrated into the building. The whole is typical of the traditionalist ideas on architecture and planning fostered by the city architects W.G. Witteveen and A. van der Steur. The restrained building has large brick surfaces with repeating windows and a pitched roof. A concrete office tower added to it during the 1970s has since been demolished. A part of the complex has been converted into apartments by Hans Kollhoff and given a new brick tower, one that Witteveen and Van der Steur would certainly have approved of. Rapp + Rapp replaced the other half by a new wing with offices and dwellings.
