Two housing blocks step down to the canal and stand at right angles to it. An arcade on the water side preserves circulation along the quay. One block contains a post office, while a roof terrace is open to tenants of all 22 dwellings. The architecture points clearly to the housing tradition of the Nieuwe Zakelijkheid (New Objectivity) of Oud, Duiker and Rietveld.
