Standing on a former sports complex in the Amsterdam district of Geuzenveld-West is this high-density residential estate. The backbone of the plan is a traffic-free central belt of green functioning as symmetry axis. This section was designed by the firm of Duinker Van der Torre Duvekot, with awnings by Friso Kramer a dominant feature of the streetscape. Two curved blocks mediate between it and 72 patio houses by Rudy Uytenhaak grouped in fours around a shared courtyard. All 900 houses have the same smooth brick facing to give the district a great sense of unity.
