The municipal urban plan for this former slaughterhouse site ranged perimeter blocks along either side of a central axis of parking facilities. Transparency is the operative word when describing the second phase by Lafour & Wijk. There each block is assembled from larger and smaller components of varying height, held slightly apart to allow contact between the green internal court and the street. The combination of colours, materials and the semi-open plot is such that all units fully profit from the spaciousness and the marvellous play of light so typical of this waterside location.
