The 128 dwelling units in this experimental scheme are packed together on a raised level ('living roof') above parking lots, a play area and communal gardens. Each unit has an open plan and four share a terrace. At first a mecca for architects, things were more mundane a decade later with complaints about lack of privacy and the non-functioning ground floor where 'spontaneous collective activities' had yet to take place.
